Coffee vs. Energy Drinks: Why Coffee Is Better

But with its rich aroma and comforting appeal, coffee can hold its own. A coffee break is an opportunity for relaxation and socialization that just so happens to also power productivity. 

So, why choose coffee over energy drinks? Energy drinks may be packed with caffeine, but coffee provides a more sustained energy boost without the crash that can come after chugging an energy drink. Coffee’s slow caffeine release fuels a gradual and steady rise in alertness and can help to keep fatigue at bay throughout the day. 

What’s more, coffee comes with health benefits. It includes natural antioxidants, which work to combat free radicals, enhance overall well-being, and invigorate both body and mind. 

Coffee is also a clear winner when it comes to your wallet. Buying energy drinks, even in bulk, can quickly add up. Yes, we know—so can purchasing your cup of joe on the way to work. Brewing your own coffee at work or home is the cost-effective way to go, as a bag of quality coffee provides multiple servings of your favorite brew at a fraction of the cost of energy drinks or ordering out. 

The Health Benefits of Coffee

It’s not just its antioxidants that make coffee a healthier alternative to energy drinks. Numerous studies have highlighted the positive effects of coffee on human health. Of course, it’s important to consume anything—even coffee—in moderation. Excessive caffeine intake can cause jitters, insomnia, and an increased heart rate. We can’t imagine that a Monster Energy Drink in White Pineapple will taste as good. But maybe that’s just us.
